From Villain to X-Men Leader
Emma Frost first appeared in Uncanny X-Men #129 (January 1980), created by Chris Claremont and John Byrne during the legendary Dark Phoenix Saga. As the White Queen of the Hellfire Club's Inner Circle, she was a formidable villain who helped manipulate Jean Grey's transformation into Dark Phoenix. Emma's path to heroism began with tragedy. When her students, the Hellions, were massacred, she fell into a coma.
