The Tomb of Dracula
Marvel's Dracula first appeared in Tomb of Dracula #1 (April 1972), created by Gerry Conway and Gene Colan. The series ran for 70 issues and is considered one of the greatest horror comics ever published. Gene Colan's atmospheric artwork and Marv Wolfman's sophisticated writing (from issue #7 onward) elevated the character far beyond typical comic book villainy.
Marvel's Dracula is explicitly the historical Vlad III of Wallachia, also known as Vlad the Impaler. In Marvel continuity, he was transformed into a vampire in 1459 and has spent centuries building his power. He's ruled vampire nations, battled heroes across generations, and even briefly conquered Britain during the "Curse of the Mutants" storyline.
The Tomb of Dracula series also introduced Blade the Vampire Hunter, who would become one of Marvel's most successful film franchises. Dracula's conflict with Blade—the daywalker who hunts his kind—remains one of Marvel's most iconic rivalries. Their battles span decades of comics and multiple media adaptations.

- Shapeshifting (bat, wolf, mist)
- Hypnotic mind control
ADDITIONAL ABILITIES

MCU: Blade's Ultimate Enemy
With Mahershala Ali's Blade confirmed for the MCU, Dracula's introduction seems inevitable. The character is Blade's most iconic adversary, and their conflict would provide the dramatic backbone for any Blade film or series. Marvel has already established vampires exist in the MCU through various references.
Dracula's power level makes him a potential Avengers-level threat. The "Curse of the Mutants" storyline, where he conquered Britain and battled the X-Men, could be adapted once mutants are fully integrated into the MCU. His centuries of history also allow for period pieces or flashback sequences exploring vampire lore.
INVESTMENT ALERT: Dracula cards benefit from Blade MCU anticipation and horror content expansion. Tomb of Dracula #1 (first appearance) is a significant Bronze Age key. Werewolf by Night's success proves Marvel can do horror. Any Blade casting news for Dracula would spike values dramatically.
