QUICKSILVERPIETRO MAXIMOFF
The fastest man in the Marvel Universe—and the most impatient. Pietro Maximoff can move at speeds exceeding Mach 10, making the world around him seem frozen. As Magneto's son and Scarlet Witch's twin brother, he's been both villain and hero, serving with the Brotherhood of Mutants and the Avengers. His MCU death in Age of Ultron shocked fans, while his X-Men film portrayal by Evan Peters became legendary for its slow-motion sequences.

Magneto's Son
Quicksilver first appeared in X-Men #4 (March 1964), created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby alongside his twin sister Wanda (Scarlet Witch). The twins debuted as members of Magneto's Brotherhood of Evil Mutants, though they were reluctant villains who eventually defected to become Avengers.
Pietro's relationship with his father Magneto has always been complicated. For decades, he believed Magneto was his biological father, though recent comics have retconned this. Regardless of genetics, the emotional weight of that relationship—the desire to please a demanding father, the rebellion against his methods—defines Pietro's character.
His super-speed comes with a psychological cost. Pietro perceives the world in slow motion, making everyone around him seem unbearably sluggish. This has made him arrogant and impatient, constantly frustrated by people who can't keep up. Writers have explored how isolation from normal human interaction has shaped his difficult personality.

Live-Action: Two Iconic Portrayals
Quicksilver has been portrayed by two different actors in competing film franchises. Aaron Taylor-Johnson played Pietro in the MCU's "Avengers: Age of Ultron" (2015), where the character heroically sacrificed himself to save Hawkeye and a child. His death remains one of the MCU's most permanent—and controversial—character exits.
Evan Peters portrayed a different version in Fox's X-Men films, starting with "Days of Future Past" (2014). His Pentagon kitchen scene—set to Jim Croce's "Time in a Bottle"—became one of the most celebrated sequences in superhero cinema. Peters' Quicksilver returned in "Apocalypse" and "Dark Phoenix," and even appeared in Marvel's "WandaVision" in a meta-casting twist.
INVESTMENT ALERT: Quicksilver cards benefit from dual iconic portrayals and Scarlet Witch connection. X-Men #4 (first appearance) is a significant Silver Age key. His MCU death doesn't preclude return via multiverse. Any X-Men MCU integration would boost interest in Magneto family members.
