The Thief Who Stole Spider-Man's Heart
Black Cat first appeared in Amazing Spider-Man #194 (July 1979), created by Marv Wolfman and Keith Pollard. Felicia Hardy was introduced as a cat burglar following in her father's criminal footsteps. Her initial encounter with Spider-Man was adversarial, but attraction quickly complicated their relationship.
What makes Black Cat unique among Spider-Man's love interests is that she fell for the mask, not the man. Felicia was attracted to Spider-Man's power and confidence—she had little interest in Peter Parker. This created fascinating tension: Peter wanted a normal relationship, while Felicia wanted the thrill of the superhero life.
Over the years, Felicia has oscillated between villain and hero. She's worked with the Kingpin, led her own criminal empire, and also fought alongside Spider-Man against greater threats. Her moral flexibility makes her unpredictable and compelling. Recent comics have given her more agency, showing her as a capable anti-hero in her own right.

Live-Action: The Most Anticipated Spider-Verse Character
Black Cat has never appeared in a live-action Spider-Man film, making her one of the most anticipated characters for future projects.
