PEPPER POTTSVIRGINIA "PEPPER" POTTS
The woman behind Iron Man. Pepper Potts started as Tony Stark's personal assistant but became so much more—CEO of Stark Industries, Tony's wife, and eventually the armored hero Rescue. Gwyneth Paltrow's portrayal across the entire Infinity Saga made Pepper the emotional anchor of the MCU's most important character arc. Her appearance in the Rescue armor during Endgame's final battle was a triumphant moment for fans who had watched her journey from the beginning.

From Secretary to Superhero
Pepper Potts first appeared in Tales of Suspense #45 (September 1963), created by Stan Lee and Don Heck. She was introduced as Tony Stark's secretary, named for her red hair and "peppery" personality. For decades, she served primarily as a love interest and supporting character, though she was always portrayed as competent and capable.
The modern era transformed Pepper significantly. She became CEO of Stark Industries, proving herself a brilliant businesswoman. In the comics, she gained her own armor—the Rescue suit—designed for defense and rescue operations rather than combat. This evolution from supporting character to hero in her own right mirrors the MCU's treatment of the character.
Pepper's relationship with Tony Stark is one of Marvel's most enduring romances. Unlike many comic book relationships that reset constantly, Pepper and Tony's connection has been consistently developed. Their marriage and the birth of their daughter Morgan represent genuine character growth rarely seen in superhero comics.

MCU: The Heart of the Infinity Saga
Gwyneth Paltrow appeared as Pepper Potts in the very first MCU film, "Iron Man" (2008), and remained a constant presence throughout the Infinity Saga. Her evolution from assistant to CEO to wife to mother to superhero paralleled Tony's own journey. Their relationship grounded Tony's character development.
The Rescue armor's debut in "Avengers: Endgame" (2019) was a payoff years in the making. Seeing Pepper fight alongside Tony in the final battle was an emotional highlight. Her presence at Tony's death and her role in raising Morgan after his sacrifice completed one of the MCU's most satisfying character arcs. While Paltrow has indicated she's done with the MCU, Pepper's legacy endures.
INVESTMENT ALERT: Pepper Potts cards benefit from foundational MCU importance and Rescue armor appeal. Tales of Suspense #45 (first appearance) is a significant Silver Age key. Her connection to Iron Man's legacy provides lasting relevance. Any Ironheart crossover could revive interest. Morgan Stark's future could involve Pepper.
