COLOSSUSPIOTR NIKOLAIEVITCH RASPUTIN
The gentle giant of the X-Men. Piotr Rasputin was a Russian farmboy who discovered he could transform his body into organic steel, becoming virtually indestructible. Despite his immense power, Colossus is an artist at heart—a pacifist who fights only to protect others. His relationship with Kitty Pryde is one of Marvel's most beloved romances. The Deadpool films introduced him to mainstream audiences as a moral compass trying to guide Wade Wilson toward heroism.

The Steel-Skinned X-Man
Colossus first appeared in Giant-Size X-Men #1 (May 1975), created by Len Wein and Dave Cockrum. He was part of the "All-New, All-Different X-Men" team that revitalized the franchise. Recruited from a collective farm in Soviet Russia, Piotr was one of the international mutants Professor Xavier gathered to rescue the original X-Men.
Unlike many superheroes, Colossus never wanted to be a fighter. He's an artist who paints and draws, finding beauty in the world even as he's forced to defend it. This contrast between his gentle nature and his role as the X-Men's heavy hitter makes him one of the team's most complex members. His famous "Fastball Special" with Wolverine—where he throws the smaller mutant at enemies—is an iconic X-Men maneuver.
Colossus has endured tremendous tragedy. His sister Illyana (Magik) was corrupted by the demon Belasco, his brother Mikhail became a villain, and he sacrificed his life to cure the Legacy Virus (though he was later resurrected). His time as one of the Phoenix Five during "Avengers vs. X-Men" showed how even the most noble heroes can be corrupted by power.

Film Appearances: From Fox to MCU
Colossus appeared in the Fox X-Men films, most notably portrayed by Daniel Cudmore in "X2," "X-Men: The Last Stand," and "Days of Future Past." However, his most beloved portrayal came in the Deadpool films, where Stefan Kapičić voiced the CGI character. This version emphasized Colossus's moral nature, constantly trying to recruit Deadpool to the X-Men.
With the X-Men joining the MCU, Colossus is guaranteed to appear. His visual design—a towering figure of gleaming steel—is perfect for modern CGI. His relationship with Kitty Pryde could be a major storyline. The Deadpool version's popularity means audiences already love the character, giving the MCU a head start with his introduction.
