SHE-HULKJENNIFER SUSAN WALTERS
Lawyer by day, gamma-powered superhero always. Jennifer Walters received an emergency blood transfusion from her cousin Bruce Banner, giving her a milder but more controlled version of his Hulk powers. Unlike Bruce, Jen retains her intelligence and personality when transformed, making her one of Marvel's most unique heroes. She's served on the Avengers, Fantastic Four, and as a superhuman law specialist. Tatiana Maslany's portrayal in "She-Hulk: Attorney at Law" brought her fourth-wall-breaking humor to the MCU.

The Sensational She-Hulk
She-Hulk first appeared in Savage She-Hulk #1 (February 1980), created by Stan Lee and John Buscema. The character was created partly to secure trademark rights before the TV series "The Incredible Hulk" could introduce a female version. Jennifer Walters was a shy lawyer who was shot by a crime boss; her cousin Bruce Banner's blood transfusion saved her life but also gave her gamma powers.
Unlike Bruce, Jennifer's transformation was less extreme. She grew taller, stronger, and green, but kept her intelligence and personality. In fact, she preferred her She-Hulk form, feeling more confident and liberated. This made her unique among gamma-powered characters—she wasn't cursed by her powers but empowered by them.
John Byrne's legendary run on "The Sensational She-Hulk" (1989-1993) established her fourth-wall-breaking humor. She-Hulk would talk directly to readers, comment on the comic's plot, and even tear through pages to reach different parts of the story. This meta-humor predated Deadpool's similar antics and made She-Hulk a truly unique character.

MCU: Attorney at Law
Tatiana Maslany debuted as Jennifer Walters/She-Hulk in "She-Hulk: Attorney at Law" (2022), a Disney+ series that embraced the character's comedic, fourth-wall-breaking nature. The show featured Jennifer running a superhuman law division while dealing with her new powers, dating life, and various Marvel cameos including Daredevil, Wong, and even a Hulk-powered Emil Blonsky (Abomination).
While the show received mixed reviews, Maslany's performance was widely praised. The series' meta finale—where She-Hulk literally broke into Marvel Studios to complain about the plot—was either brilliant or divisive depending on the viewer. She-Hulk's future in the MCU seems assured, with potential appearances in "World War Hulk" or other Avengers projects.
