The Eternal Hedonist: Origins of Starfox
Eros first appeared in Iron Man #55 (February 1973), the same issue that introduced his brother Thanos. Created by Jim Starlin, Eros was conceived as the polar opposite of the Mad Titan. While Thanos was obsessed with death and destruction, Eros embraced life, pleasure, and love. This fundamental contrast between the brothers has defined both characters for decades.
Born on Titan, a moon of Saturn, Eros is one of the Eternals, an offshoot of humanity created by the Celestials millions of years ago. Unlike his brother, who was born with the Deviant Syndrome that gave him his distinctive appearance, Eros was considered handsome and charming from birth. He spent centuries pursuing pleasure across the cosmos before eventually joining Earth's Avengers.
The name "Starfox" was given to him by Janet Van Dyne (the Wasp) when he joined the Avengers, as she felt his birth name "Eros" was too suggestive for a superhero. His time with the Avengers was marked by both heroism and controversy, as his powers raised ethical questions that would later become central to his character.

MCU Investment Thesis: Eternals Connection
Starfox made his MCU debut in the post-credits scene of "Eternals" (2021), portrayed by Harry Styles. This casting generated massive buzz and positioned the character for significant future development. His connection to Thanos—one of the MCU's most iconic villains—provides natural storytelling opportunities.
The character's appearance alongside Pip the Troll (voiced by Patton Oswalt) suggests Marvel has plans for cosmic adventures featuring Starfox. With the Eternals franchise established and the multiverse saga expanding, Starfox could play a role in future Avengers films or cosmic storylines.
INVESTMENT ALERT: The Harry Styles casting created significant collector interest. Starfox cards spiked after the Eternals post-credits reveal and remain elevated. Future MCU appearances could drive additional appreciation.
