GHOST RIDERJOHNNY BLAZE • SPIRIT OF VENGEANCE
The Spirit of Vengeance—a flaming skull on a motorcycle who punishes the guilty with hellfire. Johnny Blaze was a stunt cyclist who made a deal with the demon Mephisto to save his father's life. The price was his soul, bonded to the Spirit of Vengeance Zarathos. Now, when innocent blood is spilled, Johnny transforms into Ghost Rider—a being of pure hellfire who can burn the souls of the wicked with his Penance Stare. He's one of Marvel's most visually iconic characters, and his supernatural power level makes him essential for the Midnight Sons.

AVENGERS: DOOMSDAY WATCH
LIKELYGhost Rider is essential for the Midnight Sons team that Marvel is clearly building. With Blade, Moon Knight, and Werewolf by Night already introduced, Ghost Rider is the missing piece. His supernatural power level—including the ability to harm beings immune to physical damage—makes him invaluable against mystical threats. If Doomsday involves any demonic or supernatural elements, Ghost Rider will be there.
MIDNIGHT SONS POTENTIAL
Ghost Rider is a founding member of the Midnight Sons in comics. With Blade's movie coming and Moon Knight established, the team is forming. Ghost Rider's visual spectacle and power level make him a must-have for any supernatural team-up. MCU introduction seems imminent.
INVESTMENT IMPLICATION
Marvel Spotlight #5 (first Johnny Blaze Ghost Rider) is a major Bronze Age key. Nicolas Cage's films created mainstream awareness. Any MCU announcement would cause massive spikes. His iconic visual design ensures lasting collector appeal.

Hellfire and Vengeance
Ghost Rider first appeared in Marvel Spotlight #5 (August 1972), created by Roy Thomas, Gary Friedrich, and Mike Ploog. Johnny Blaze was a motorcycle stuntman who made a deal with Mephisto to cure his adoptive father's cancer. The devil cured the cancer but claimed Johnny's soul, bonding him with the demon Zarathos. Now, when innocent blood is spilled, Johnny transforms into the Ghost Rider—a flaming skeleton who punishes the guilty.
There have been multiple Ghost Riders—Danny Ketch, Robbie Reyes, and others—but Johnny Blaze remains the most iconic. His visual design—flaming skull, leather jacket, chains, and a hellfire motorcycle—is instantly recognizable. The Penance Stare, which forces victims to experience all the pain they've caused, is one of Marvel's most terrifying powers.
Ghost Rider exists at the intersection of superhero and horror. He's fought alongside the Avengers and Champions, but his true home is with the Midnight Sons—Marvel's supernatural team. His power level is cosmic; he's defeated beings that would destroy most heroes. The Spirit of Vengeance is nearly impossible to kill permanently.

Live-Action History and MCU Future
Nicolas Cage played Ghost Rider in two Sony films—"Ghost Rider" (2007) and "Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance" (2012). While critically mixed, these films introduced the character to mainstream audiences and have developed a cult following. Cage's over-the-top performance and the impressive visual effects made Ghost Rider a recognizable pop culture icon.
Gabriel Luna played Robbie Reyes (a different Ghost Rider) in "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." to positive reception. With Marvel now building toward the Midnight Sons—Blade, Moon Knight, Werewolf by Night, and potentially Doctor Strange—Ghost Rider's MCU introduction seems inevitable. Whether it's Johnny Blaze, Robbie Reyes, or both, the Spirit of Vengeance will ride again.
